Joe,

I would go ahead and snap up the VK7 bargain now, while it is
available. It is a solid $700-800 cheaper than the CX3 and $300-400
cheaper than the XK2. The VK7 does not have the keyboard of the XK2,
but its overall tone and Leslie simulator are better. The VK7 is a
very solidly built and respectable clone. When it first came out, it
was the best on the block. At this point, the only one that is
incrementally better is the CX3, but like I said, it is only
incrementally better. They are both in the same ballpark soundwise
and the VK7 does have a decent onboard Leslie sim, which cannot be
said for any of the Hammond clones.

The CX3 is not going to be in the $1000 range, new or used, for a
long time.

I say go for it, man! Heck, VK7s are still fetching about $1k on
ebay, so the worst that could happen is you buy one and play it for
awhile, then sell it if it is not the right thing for you.

Good luck!

Regards,
Eric
