Yes, this seems to be the trend. This drop in street price for new
instruments across the board is also doing interesting things to the
used instruments selling on eBay and other sources.

The latest craze is that most of the ads are starting to crop up with
the manufacturer providing the estimated street price as opposed to
the MSRP. This has a negative impact on certain dealers who could
normally get a higher street price if they were the only shop in town.

So it is a good time for us gear hounds to lust after all the new
toys, since they are getting more affordable. But swapping them on
eBay is becoming less desirable since one can buy the new version for
such a good deal.

I've heard about places that sell the VK7 new for $999, Emu module
for $399, Korg CX3 for $1699, Voce V5 for $649 etc. Them's some good
prices!

Buy all of them, I say!
