Subject:Re: OB3^2 vs OB5
Hi,
Can't help on the difference between the two, but I found tho OB3^2
to be a great sounding ( full bodied )clone with pretty respectable
and certainly pleasant sounding Leslie sim., as well.
The main problem with the module was that it created phaze problems
especially when trying to play chords on the two manuals. This is a
point not always mentioned as some players only use the upper manual
but it drove me mad and I had to get rid of it. Such a pity because
it has a great tone generator.
I bought a Voce which is rock solid and has no unpleasant phaze
problems whatever chords are played. The OB5 being a two manual clone
may well have the same problem as the OB3^2 and it should be
auditioned carefully to check this out. Hold a chord on the upper
whilst setting all effects off and play a corresponding chord on the
lower, try different chords and listen out for the dreaded swirling
sound. This swirl is also very evident on fast Leslie as well.
