Subject:Re: New B-3 - what are they thinking?
But how much more potential might a pro version of this new B3 have? If most
of the folks in the Clonewheel Group are like me, they're looking for the "perfect"
B3 clone--according to whatever definition each of us will accept, and the fact
that we have a CX3, VK7, V3, V5, B4 or whatever won't stop us from buying the
next generation of clone if it offers something better that what we already
have. A "perfect" emulation of the sound is probably more important to most
of us than the "feel" of sitting down at a real B3, especially when portability
and price are included in the equation.
I have the general impression that the successful emulation of the Leslie sound
is probably at least as important as the successful emulation of the B3 itself.
It seems to be a tougher nut to crack, too.

Time will tell of course, but one "notable exception" may be all Ham-Suz needs
to make this new product work. Have you ever noticed the prices Hammond consoles
command in the Bible belt??? You wouldn't pay them, and neither would I, but
someone's paying them over and over again, for 25-45 yr-old instruments.
