I like them both. Like everyone else in the world, I think the C3 setting on the VK is too deep, but I like the C2 setting a lot. The CX-3 C3 setting is also a little too deep but not as bad. With the CX-3 I change between C2 and C3. I will listen to the VK C2 setting with the clean wheels.

Barry,

What do you think of the Chorus/Vibrato effect on the VK-7 versus the
CX-3 ? I find that the VK-7 chorus sound improves when the 'clean'
wheels are used, but generally I don't like it. The leakage on the
vintage wheels is picked up by the chorus/vibrato and creates a
swirly sound. If I boost the EQ in two areas (1.5KHz and 2.5KHz) it
sounds better but still not completely convincing. I think the
swirliness comes from frequencies above 6KHz but cutting off these
frequencies makes the keyclick in the bottom two octaves sound really
poppy, so I haven't yet found a good compromise.
