If you're referring to the "New B-3" technology, unfortunately I'd
bet you won't see it anytime soon in the XK-2 or it's replacement. I
don't see how H/S would figure they could sell the end product under
the $2000 to $2200 price limit that they consider ( or used to
consider) as the upper limit for instruments like an XK-2. Beyond
that price range, they consider them too expensive for the targeted
market, so I've been told by a Hammond dealer. Seems like that would
all have to change a lot if the "New B-3" technology was used, and if
the pricing followed the same proportioning as used for the "New B-3"
price.
Although I'm not going to be considering a "New B-3" for purchase,
I'd certainly consider a single manual like the XK-2 if it had
the "New B-3" technology incorporated. It wouldn't matter to me if
it was bigger and heavier than the current XK-2. I'd still be
interested depending on the price, and really be intrigued if it had
a layout just like the B-3...rocker switches, vib/chor knob and 2
sets of dbars.
