Wow, I guess I came to the right place for Pro 3 answers! It's cool having famous people around! I have an MS 1 diaphragm. I guess I'm wondering how much a replacement PD-40 would cost and if it would improve the sound enough to be worth it.

Thanks for the information. I don't know much about these kinds of things, so this might be a stupid question. Would it be possible to replace the power IC without other major modification?

The LM3886 will not fit directly in the PC board. Depending on the serial number, there are other parts and circuit paths that will need modification. The Power transformer will also need to be changed if you want the 45 watts of the "T".
