I'm very happy with my KBR3d for the compromises it has to make.
70 lbs on casters is a heck of lot better than humping a Leslie.
Regarding piano section, I just use a Wurly 200 EP thru it and I'm
delighted with the sound. Tons of headroom and great crunch. I can't
say as I've noticed any frequency response issues. But I've ditched
playing digital pianos since I bought this amp and went back to my
old Wurly.
For me the main problem is just constantly trying to achieve the best
integration between my XK2 and the organ section. I just know it can
never match the playing experience of my home B-3 & Leslie. And I
actually get more frustrated with just the changes in my playing
technique on my clone rig than worrying about the sound. So much goes
into just sitting on a Hammond bench and having that big piece of
furniture with those 2 great key beds & pedalboard arrayed in front
of you. Can the cloners ever really get us there?
