This tone knobs thread brings up an interesting area in the world of
clone rigs. The more complex your setup, the more tone and volume
controls you have in the chain! Its easy to have one control set too
high and get real noisey results.

On a B3 rig you would use the drawbars to adjust your tone to the
room. Do you find yourself using the drawbars or using tone controls
on the organ, tube preamp, or EQ to adjust to the room? I would guess
that the EQ would be the best place to do minor adjustments. I mainly
use my EQ to cut everything above 6KHz and help lose the clone
shrillness.

On a similar topic, what tone controls are people using with their
Speakeasy preamps? I find myself using the following:

treble - 12:00
bass - 9:00 (cuts the bass)
volume - 3:00 (high)

It seems like the Speakeasy performs well if the organ and Speakeasy
are both at high volumes. Does that sound right to you?

BTW, regarding the previous post on tube preamps. Its all a matter of
degree. If you can't afford a Speakeasy amp, then get a cheaper one
like an ART MP. A tube automatically improves the sound. Its more of
the difference between "Allright!" and "Holy Sh*t!"
