Subject:Re: Opinions on inexpensive tube pre
Very much so. I wouldn't even consider using a clone without it, but
with it I'll put the XM-1 up against other clone out there. Even A/B
against a real Hammond console is tough to tell. Just ask the folks
who came to our 1st Clone Gathering here in MD. At this point I even
use it each week with a transistor tonewheel Hammond at my church.
The Speakeasy takes the place of the tube amp in the organ, so
running into something like the KBR or any other tube amp would be
ideal. I run into a Motion Sound Pro3t & LowPro with excellent
results. 8^)

list's founder member's web-site www.ashbysolutions.com for an
excellent review on this tube pre-amp, which pretty much adds fairy
dust to anything digital. Also see previous posts by David Hagler. He
uses an Hammond XM1 and the Speakeasy has changed his life.
