Hmmmm--sounds interesting. That's a lot to do in a split second, cuz ya gotta switch the Leslie to Tremolo too. But I always thought the drawbar setting used during the chorus was "brighter" than the rest of the song--could it be Matthew Fisher did something like what you describe, and played the chorus parts on the second manual?

Yes; in fact, it's actually easier to replicate on two manuals: Dive down with your right hand, and when you reach the top of the lowest octave, start sweeping up on the other manual with your left.
