A little MI education here for you - If you spoke to anyone at the H/S
booth, it was most likely a factory rep. If you are a music retailer, or
work at a music retail store, you probably would have made an appointment
with your H/S rep to do a walk through of the new products presented at the
show. I'm an independent manufacturer's rep. One of my lines happens to be
H/S. Any questions?

It's unfortunate that you didn't get the answerers to your questions at the
show It certainly does not show the manufacturer in a positive light when
this type of stuff occurs. I know from many years of experience working the
NAMM shows, on both the manufacturing and the rep side, that at times the
personnel staffing the booth are the credit and administrative employees,
who unfortunately are hopelessly lost when it comes to technical talk.
Rarely, will you find engineering at these shows. Their time is much to
valuable to be spent schmoozing-something that most engineers are socially
inept at anyway! Only on really important product introductions will you
find people that can truly talk the walk and walk the walk. Unfortunately
for you, the people behind the "New B3" were at the show, but they just
happen to be Japanese and didn't speak English!

The "why buy a glorified clone when I can by the real thing for 1/10 the
price" statement has been beaten to death, revived and beaten to death
again. Can you buy one for 1/10 the price? Sure, maybe. Hell, one guy
found one for $99.00. I just missed a mint B3 and 122 for $1200 the other
day. I could go on and on, but I won't. Go through the archives to catch
up on both sides of this topic.
