I had the same problem with my V5. I corresponded with Dave Amels at
Voce about it. The Merge/Thru switch must be in the correct position -
try it in both positions, the switch labeling on the V5 is unclear. If
neither position seems to work, the switch is probably dirty. Try
flipping it back and forth several times and/or spray some De-oxit into
it. I got mine working reliably that way.
