Hey Chaz,
I never bothered shortening the bass port tubes. I play with bass
players so I don't use pedals, usually play a counter bass with left hand and
never saw the need to increase bass response. I've been inside the KBR-3D and
cutting the plastic tubes looks to be a simple task. Looks like it could be
done easily with a box cutter or small saw. OHF Bob
