You can find them new at www.philrees.co.uk. They are a fair bit more
expensive than thru boxes. Most of these merge boxes run from the
midi power generated by the keyboard so need no extra wallwarts and
you can safely buy from the UK and use in the USA.>snip

I use a Phil Rees merge box, line current powered and have never had a
freeze up or other problem as long as no midi info is being transmitted when
cabling is being connected. IE no keys down during cable connect or
disconnect.
