The X2 was Hammond's first portable clone attempt -- I don't count the Porta-B as a "clone" -- and had a big brother, the X5, with two manuals. A nice idea, but the technology wasn't really ready to provide an accurate tonewheel copy through voltage-divider electronics. I don't remember who actually made it, although it was a Japanese product. (Suzuki, maybe?)

I've seen articles about the synthesizer on the web. I don't know much about it, except that it was not a Moog/ARP/Putney clone; more of the kind of semi-synth that Moog made for Wurlitzer (the Orbit III).
