I think the idea of covering the keyboards is a good one but use
a material that is light colored. A black vinyl cover will make
matters worse.

Maybe use one of those heat reflectors people put inside their
car windsheild when parked in a sunny parking lot in summer. Using
that would also have the advantage of letting any breeze there is
blow in under the keyboard(s) helping to cool them. I guess you'd
also need a bungy or two to hold the cover on if there's a breeze.

And turn the keyboards off when you're not playing them.

My K2000 LCD becomes virtually unreadable after sitting in the
sun for 10 minutes. Don't know if this is heat or light related.
Never had it shutdown due to heat though, probably because it has an
internal fan for keeping the memory and processor cool.
