I have had these kinds of problems on gigs out in the sun. Best you can
do it put a towel/blanket over your boards, I guess.

I have had freeze ups like this on Kurzweil and Oberheim pianos.

It is embarrassing to have to stop in the middle of a tune because your
keyboard is acting up. However on some of these outdoor gigs, PA power
amps have had the same problems.

Probably it is always best to get a tent shelter as a requirement in the
contract. I think that there are some synth manuals that say that these
instruments should not be exposed to temperatures below 45 degrees F or
above 85 degrees F. Makes sense to me because freeze ups have happened
to me a number of times on hot summer gigs. Luckily my keyboards powered
up after about 5 minutes after being covered with a towel/blanket. Looks
a little awkward, but the show must go on.

Not mention having to run with my keyboard under my arm because of
occasionally getting caught in the rain when the band at least didn't
have some kind of covered stage.
