Subject:Re: New Guy on the Block (Back)
Lon,
I see you have the XK2, I've got the XB2. I don't run into that
underwater sound you speak of. I do however run into the overbearing bass on
the set up. Tried reducing bass settings in different combinations within the
three components but have had minimum success. All in all, the problem is
minor at best. I plan at some time to dive into that encyclopedia they call a
users manual to see if I can split the keyboard with the lower part set to
80880000, (or there abouts) and have the rest controlled by real time drawbar
use. Anybody out there ever do that?...is it possible? And remembering back,
I got that underwater sound you spoke of before I turned off the Leslie simm
on the keyboard. Have you done that to yours? Others things to reduce that
sound is to back off on the KBR's lower rotor simm. eg, reduce the effect and
volume settings. In the old days when trucking my C3/31H, (Modified for two
speed and beefed up power-wise), I used to unplug the lower rotor so only the
upper would spin. Kinda gave the bottom sound more balls I found. I played
more of a counter-bass in my rock bands rather than a lot of chords. With the
bottom rotor going it gave it too much of a wussie sound. Hope this helps.
