Subject:Re: Favorite rock Organist (Sons Of Champlin)

Bill is a fine player. Which live album is this?

However, when I saw everyone practically behind a midi keyboard in that
group in the mid or late 80's, I totally lost it for them. I stopped
buying their stuff around "17". I think that was the one released about
1982 with all those sappy Cetera love songs.

Gimme "A Hit By Varese" anyday. Anymore, the only way I can tell if it
is them is if Pankow does a loud slide on the trombone. I think a
tribute band would sound more like the Chicago I grew up loving.

I did get to see them with Kath in '77. After his accidental death (not
long after that), the band was never the same. I never knew why they let
Seraphine go later either. Kind of like if Zeppelin would have fired
Bonham as I thought his drumming was critical to their overall sound,
IMO.

Chicago was one of my favorite groups and IMO have sold out more than
the Moody Blues when they lost Moraz.

Frankly, I never knew why Moraz stayed with the Moodies so long. I saw
him with them once and looked totally bored out of his mind.
After hearing his Yes work and then some of his duet work with Bill
Bruford, I can understand why, even though I really like the Moodies.
