Maybe it's just me, but I see this situation as being a bit different from the typical use of one or more session musicians on a recording. The organ is everything in this tune. Jerry Corbetta has been given, and has taken, credit for it for over 30 years. All the history books say it's him. Even the description of him at his booking agent's web site (http://www.barberusa.com/rock/classic_rock_all_stars.html) begins with reference to "Green Eyed Lady". Finding out it wasn't Jerry Corbetta on GEL is kinda like finding out it wasn't Rod Argent on "Time of the Season". Maybe I've just been naive, but I can't accept the substitution of personnel in this particular case as simply "business as usual." But I guess I'll get over it. :-)
Still interested in getting independent confirmation though!
