Subject:RE: pro-3 vs,pro-3t
Hi Group,
I guess I will show my ignorance here. Playing gospel music only, all my
life, kind of leaves me out of the loop on most of these discussions. I
used to play the original CX-3 through a Pro-3t and a Low Pro. It was
great. When I moved to Arizona, the church had a Hammond playing through
some huge and very old Hammond Tone Cabinets and the sound really sucked.
So, because a 122 Leslie was so expensive, they bought a complete Motion
Sound system for the organ and once we got the output cut down from the
organ it was and is wonderful.
Well, here comes the ignorance part. I am playing my CX-3 through a Peavey
KB/A 300. I know, not a lot going on there but that is what the salesman
recommended. Of course he thought it was 300 watts and it certainly isn't.
But it works for me. Question is, would the Speakeasy pre-amp make my setup
sound better? I mean noticeably better. If so, I can save a bit and get
one and if not the not. DUH.
Sorry for my ignorance. I am improving some by reading your posts. Also, I
have called Korg Customer Support and so far no one wants to answer my
question about the current version of firmware for the CX-3. They put me on
hold or transfer me to an answering machine and never return my call.
At one point, Bruce indicated that the latest firmware that he was aware of
was "If the values of M and S are 00111500 and 00111400, respectively, then
the firmware is current."
My response was "My firmware is M01070501 and S00111400. So is my 'M'
firmware
behind or ahead?"
Still don't know but if I ever get someone at Korg to talk to me, which I
think almost happened on Monday before he transferred me to an answering
machine, I will post what they tell me.
Also, what are "Waterfall" keys.
Sincerely,
Your fellow member and resident ignoramus,
Richard A>
