Subject:RE: showing horn and rotor of motion sound products

On the subject of watching bright & shiny rotors, are you guys familiar with
the Leslie Model 950? The pinnacle of psychedelia, it had four vertically
mounted 12" foam rotors mounted over four 12" speakers each with it's own
50w amp. The cabinet was tall and vertical with the four rotors stacked one
on top the other, and they were visible (no grill cloth) with wild,
fluorescent designs painted on the front and long fluorescent black lights
running vertically on each side to enhance the entire visual/audio
experience. Unfortunately, they weighed in around 400 lbs which didn't make
them very conducive to lugging from town to town. I saw one of these
behemoths in the basement of a local music dealer around 1969 when I was 12
or 13 and I didn't fully realize what I had seen until many years later (for
the longest time I thought the reoccurring vision in my head was something I
had dreamt). You really had to see it to believe it, and unfortunately I
cannot find a picture of one anywhere on the net. There must not have been
many of them made either because I would imagine in these "retro" times we
live in, that a few would have surfaced by now. If anyone finds a picture
of one please let me know and maybe we could also post it to the group.
