Subject:Motion Sound R3-147

The R3-147 is a really nice simulator. I have not owned one, but
have played through one several times. I have owned the Pro3T and
currently use a KBR-m and KT80...in other words, I am a major Motion
Sound junkie.

The R3-147 is very quiet and the only thing I would say I did not
like about it was there was no real sense of moving air like you
experience with other Motion Sound gear or with a real Leslie. Since
the spinning rotor is so well isolated, it is hard to really know
that you are actually moving some air in there.

I have heard some folks say that the CX3 internal sim is so close
they have sold their R3-147. Along similar lines, I believe it
sounds close to the Dynacord CLS-222. It is a great solution for a
trouble-free setup and it makes the soundman happy to have the XLRs
built in...no need to mike a cabinet.

As for price, one can buy them new in the $750-900 range, last time I
checked. I have seen them on the used/eBay market in the $500-650
range. Good luck.
