Subject:Re: Hammonds and pedals - Love 'em or hate 'em

Dear Bruce and list,

I am actually very interested in the list in all of its forms--including
polls. I did not vote owing to the ever-changing but never-ceasing
incompetence in the way I check and respond to messages. I hope that
clarifies!

I like playing with bass players. I also love pedals because then you can
get rid of the "problem of the empty middle" when combining bass with
melodies. With pedals, you can have the

bassline, melody, and chords at once;
or chords voiced across two octaves plus bassline;
or chords with interlocking voicing (intertwining two timbres within the same
register by playing both manuals in the same octave) plus bassline;
or the classic organ "tutti" effects.

Pedals increase options. Are those increased options worth the effort of
moving the damn pedals around? I vary on this last point.

group is getting tired of them. I'm not going to continue with any more
polls for the moment. If there is an interest in discussing pedals among the
