My experience has been the exact same. Plus, on my
band's CD, we ran it into a 147. It has fooled many an

Running any organ sound into a real Leslie makes a huge difference. A
marginal organ sound through a real Leslie will beat a great organ sound
through a marginal-quality Leslie simulation any day of the week.

Mitch does indeed get great sounds out of his VK-7. If you have not yet
checked out his band - the 9's, I recommend it. I've never met Mitch in
person but I listen to both of his CDs all the time. Mitch not only has good
organ sounds, he's a great Rhodes player. And while he uses a VK-7 for
Hammond sounds, he uses a real Rhodes, even at gigs.
