Subject:Co-moderator
All,
As predicted, expanding this group to include all Hammond clone types last year has increased the membership significantly. We are rapidly approaching 300 members -- up from 125 a year ago -- which means that the moderator's tasks have increased, too. As a general rule, we gain 2-3 members each week, and only lose 1 member per month. Despite our size increase, the general atmosphere of the list has remained friendly and helpful!
I have asked Etienne Demers-Martel to co-moderate the forum with me, and he has kindly accepted. Etienne has been with the group for about a year now, and he has a solid web background.
What does this mean to you? Well, it DOESN'T mean that I'm bowing out. It just means that if you have a question, and I seem to be ignoring you, you should ask Etienne for help. It also means that he might have to step in to declare a subject too OT once in a while. (Although, the group has been pretty good about this situation.) Right now, consulting has been slow, and I have been available on the list seven days a week, but that may not always be the case (at least, I hope not!) Having a second moderator will guarantee that problems get addressed in a reasonable time, even if I can't get to them personally. As co-moderator, Etienne can create polls, enable posting for new members, and help with email address snafus.
Please join me in welcoming Etienne to this new position!
Best regards,
-BW
