Subject:strange sound CX-3
Hi folks,
This is probably a dumb question but here goes.
I am a new owner of the current model of Korg CX-3. I have a problem
with a strange sound, much like the sound of the wind blowing across
a microphone which is heard at low sound levels. When I turn my
amplifier up, and then lower the expression pedal, I can hear this
sound.
To test this, I used the regular drawbars and used only a high sound
seetting like 00000001 to get a tone that would not readily be
heard. But you can hear this 'wind' noise predominately and it will
increase with and increase in the expression pedal. It is annoying
and also can be heard in the background of ALL setting including
presets. It is not heard however if the amp type is set to pre-amp.
I have changed on one preset, all the various volume setting such as
leakage and that type of thing, to no avail. It is there in Vintage
as well as Clean. I use Clean because I also use bass pedals and
Clean has a much better pedal sound than Vintage.
When I listen to this sound without moving the expression pedal, I
can hear it come and to. Sometimes it is not there and then it comes
back in a few seconds. The sound might also be refered to as
sounding like a capacitor discharging.
I know I am not so good at describing the sound but has anyone else
heard this or do I already need repair service? I called Korg
Customer support but they are all at NAMM and won't be back for a
week.
Thanks for listening and helping.
Richard
