As I said in my post, I've not tried any of the expansion cards except the
session. I'm really not horns type person anyway, but I do know I don't
like the ones on the standard 1080 (no exp.).
The next generation of technology for Roland's XV series is "basically" the
same, with some improvements, but they went in and revamped all their
sounds, and did an excellent job of it. The 128 voice piano is the XV
version of the 64 voice piano on the JV, but it sounds much, much more lush,
full, and open. The same applies to pretty much all the sounds... IMHO, of
course.
