Subject:Organ bass

Great discussion on clone bass and "what's the best". I have a
Yamaha S-80, using the drawbar elements and running it through the
H&K Roto to a Mackie ART 200AM. Sounds pretty good and I've learned
to live with the weighted action (builds up my chops anyway!).

At times, though, playing bass octaves left hand with chords or
soloing right hand, the bass sounds a little "much", sometimes
conflicting with our bass player--it even sounded that way when I was
playing through a Roland KC-500, which has a 15" instead of the
Mackie 12" I got now. If I try to EQ some of the bass out onboard
the S-80, it loses some of the fullness.

I'm thinking of doing a split on the S-80, with some type of bass for
the lower, oh, 35% of the keyboard, and organ for the rest. Slap,
acoustic, fretless, etc.--many great basses to choose from. Problem
is, I'm going to be running that through the Roto too.

Has anybody run into this type of problem and solved it easily?
