Subject:OT: JV-1080 question

Sorry for this OT post, but I know several folks on the list have JV-1080's, and I haven't received any answers on the JV-1080 mailing list (yeah there is one, but there's almost no activity on it). Anyway...I just bought a used JV-1080 with the piano expansion card. I know I have a lot to learn before I use this unit to itsfull potential, but I do have an initial question: How do I get the best natural-sounding horns (for jazz, soul-jazz, funk) out of this thing? Can it be done by tweaking the factory patches or do I need another expansion board? If the latter, which one has the best horns (esp. saxes)? Based on my reading I'm guessing it's the Session or Super Sound boards, but I welcome advice. To be honest, I'm rather disappointed by the quality of some of the factory patches. The saxes in particular sound like they're out of a DX-7 or something. Very synthy, corny, and not even remotely credible. My old Korg M1 had a tenor sax that sounded a lot better than anything I've heard out of the 1080 so far. But I'm hoping to get some guidance on improvements. If it's another expansion board I need, so be it. I would like to be able to do some funky horn arrangements that are reasonably convincing. Any pointers, or links to sites where I can find some help, would be appreciated. I already know about the JV XPerience site. Thanks,
