Subject:Re: Native Inst. B4: LIVE??

Mark,

I gigged with it for a few months - sounded great. I used my Leslie ( I'm
too spoiled not to ). I took more ribbing from other musicians for this
setup than I've ever taken. It was a bit disconcerting to have to re-boot
from time to time, after a while I removed everything but the Midiox and B4
programs. I was always concerned agout fragile audio connections to the
laptop's soundcard. I used a Toshiba Pentium 2 300 MHZ with 96 MB RAM. I
got the latency down to about 15 ms. The soundcard is a Yamaha. Newer
DirectX drivers were important. I used the Midiman 1x4 USB Midi interface.
It took a little too much time to set up and tear down, and I was always a
little nervous until I actually got it playing. From time to time it would
repeat some of the notes I'd just played and sometimes it would just get
stuck, causing me to reboot. I just got tired of dealing with it and went
back to playing my B3/760. One cable, play. Perfect.

Cheers, Ken
