Dave,

The lower tier of the IS2 can be moved up and down to your liking. Mine
is currently 5" below the cable, but could be higher or lower (about 2"
increments, starting around 1.5"). I'll send you a photo to help
illustrate.

You might be able to do the XP-80 and Virus trick with the IS2 by
balancing it on there. I would suggest wrapping the cable in velcro to
keep the Virus in place.
