Subject:RE: Best setting for CX3 into a Leslie or Motion Sound

While you are thinking of it, I would like to know what settings (as in
drawbar) anyone uses on their XK-2 into a MSKBR3D. I recently acquired the
KBR3D, and the only thing I can get to sound decent is a very limited
setting like 42420003. I'm used to more like 78840000 into my 122, but when
I pull out anything beyond 4 with the MS, it sounds either boomy or screechy
or even underwatery (if there is such a sound)! My speakeasy preamp
improves the sound some, but it is a l-o-o-o-ng way from the 122, IMHO. Any
suggestions would be appreciated.

Subject: [CWSG] Best setting for CX3 into a Leslie or Motion Sound

My CX3 arrived today! I've been playing with it for the past couple
of hours and trying to make some quick tweaks for upcoming gigs.

I will be using it with Motion Sound and I'm wondering if I can get a
decent result by just burning through all the presets and turning the
Leslie sim off by pushing the button and saving the patch. I don't
have a ton of time to get into editing, although I did make a couple
of patches using the "preamp" setting which is supposed to sound like
a console Hammond straight up. I found that this does not sound
quite as edgy (at least through headphones).

Any advice is appreciated on how folks are setting their CX3s to run
into Leslies and Motion Sounds.

BTW, the key bounce is a fairly pronounced glitch and it's going to
take me a while to get over that one. Kind of a bummer, in my
opinion. Any quick slaps on the keyboard and you get a slapback
echo. So much for my playing style:( Can't imagine trying to use
this thing in the studio. The producer would have my head on a stick
with all the extra ghost notes. I tried turning local off and MIDI-
ing the CX3 to itself, but this did not fix the problem. Maybe I did
it wrong?

Otherwise, I like it quite a bit and can't wait to try it on a gig.
I'm hoping to adapt my style a bit to work around the double-bounce
defect.

Thanks in advance for you help on the above issues.

Regards,
Eric
