Subject:Re: leslie 147 modelling from Line 6
Drawing solidly on my tiny store of information, I can offer this: the
Pod has a rotary speaker in its repertoire, but it's based on the Fender
single-speaker models. (Think Stevie Ray Vaughan on "Cold Shot.") In the
original Pod (not the current 2.0) one of the factory presets used it. It
was kind of wimpy, so I changed the speaker cabinet from whatever it was
using to the Blackface Twin option. That added some muscle and it sounded
better. BUT--because it's based on the guitar-player-type Leslies, a picky
keyboard player would probably be disappointed. No lower and upper rotor
speeding up at different rates.
I know that this was the Pod, and not the MM4 stomp box which you're
talking about, but I'd be real real surprised if Line 6 didn't just re-use
the same algorithms. So most likely, it would be good enough to satisfy a
lot of audiences and better than nothing at all, but there are better
options available.
