When a Hammond expression pedal is at full "volume", all frequencies are released at approximately the same volume. At lower settings however, the expression pedal cuts high and mid frequencies more than lower frequencies. There is a chart online somewhere showing the actual breakdown of frequencies affected, but I can't find it right now. Suffice to say that the frequencies below about 400 Hz or so are almost totally unaffected by the movement of the expression pedal.
