Subject:B4 and NEW RAM
This is mainly intended for Deke but I'll fire it at the list since
it does deal with the B4 and computers.
When we loaded my Vaio with Win2000, Deke discovered that I only had
64 mg of RAM. Needless to say, things move real slow on the
start-up. Last night I went out and bought another 128 meg/100 bus
speed. It took all of about 30 seconds to install.
Man, does that make a difference. I could have easily gone up to 256
by removing the old 64 stick and getting two 128s. I'll wait for a
sale since there are no rebates at the present time on 128/100 megs
of RAM.
The B4 loads in a heart beat and never skips a beat.
I like it a lot.
I have to admit that I did not primarily buy the BX3 to use as a B4
controller. That is a bit excessive. I bought the BX3 because I
thought it would sound great as a stand-alone piece of gear. But it
doesn't.
Deke heard the B4 through my studio speakers (Event 20/20). The B4
sounds very good. I would defy anyone to spot it as a piece of
software in a studio recording.
I would urge anyone looking for a decent clone who already has a
laptop with the proper power requirements to take a close look at the
B4 with an Echo soundcard.
I fooled some of the best players in Dallas on Sunday with this
thing.
