Subject:RE: EVB3 for windows
Here's the deal with the EVB3 - It is available for Windows, but not as
a stand-alone. You must use it with the latest (and last, unfortunately)
windows version of Logic , which is 5.3. It's also available for Macs,
again with Logic - but I'm not using a Mac right now, so I'm not up on
what version, etc.
Soundwise, it's pretty great. I also own the B4, and have used both for
recording, sequencing, etc., but never live. (Live is XK-2, Speakeasy,
KBR3D). Although usually I'm against them, it's got a TON of presets
with the players' names or the actual songs.(C. Thompson, Oye Como Va,
etc.)that sound A LOT like the real thing. There's a dry, wooden
overdriven distorted Jimmy Smith sound that I've never heard any clone
come close to. Not to knock the B4, b/c it's usable, but this one just
sounds (I think) much better. (Leslie, too)
as always..YMMV,
Bill P.
Hi All
Does anyone know if there is a Emagic EVB3 for Windows? The demo
sounds like it has B4 qualities + a better Leslie sim. Looks like you
need a MAC though, plus their Logic software. Is there a Windows
version, and can this be a stand alone application?
Regards,
Doug
