Subject:Speakeasy and Solid State Leslies
I was going to sell my 925 and 860 Leslie's, but I took a shot and had Steve
at Speakeasy make me up a preamp pedal for both of them. Let me tell you,
with this preamp those mediocre sounding Leslie's sound great. Will it ever
be just like a 122 or 147, NO, because they used by-polar instead of MOSFET
power transistors, and the circuit has a fair amount of noise and hiss, but
If you have a properly working Solid State Leslie don't get rid of it, get a
Speakeasy preamp, or if you find an old 760, 860,900,910,925 SS Leslie cheap
and in good condition, take a second look at it. After all they are real
Leslie's, you will be very happy plus it will be LOUD.
