Subject:RE: B4 - Digital Clipping
I've never seen that issue. I can rip the audience's heads right off with mine and still it never clips. I am trying to think what would cause your problem... when you say gain on the B4, what parameter are you changing? Volume (7) or Expression (11)? And even having it most of the way down doesn't help? Weird. Do you run lines out from the Quattro to a small mixer, or just come straight out of the Quattro to the board/amp?

Subject: [CWSG] B4 - Digital Clipping
So...for you B4 users out there (and anyone else who
has experience with using soft-synths in a live
situation)...have any of you had any problem with
digital clipping when using the B4?
I have had two experiences with this in totally
different situations:
1. I had a recording session where I ran the B4 into
the Midiman Quattro into the board. I noticed that I
had to drastically reduce the output of the B4 in
order for it not to digitally clip.
2. Running the B4 into the Speakeasy preamp is
fantastic...yet I have to be very careful. If I turn
the pre-amp gain past 2:00, I get this digital clip.
Now...this doesn't make sense to me. This happens if I
have the gain on the B4 turned down drastically.
But...this digital clip shouldn't have anything to do
with the Speakeasy, since it's not digital.
Is this an issue with the Quattro?
Any insight would be appreciated.
Mitch
