Pinout of XB-2 8-pin DIN socket

1 - expression input voltage
2 - photo diode ground
3 - relay ground
4 - Foot switch (Not connected)
5 - Photo diode ground (connected internally to pin 2)
6 - Lamp supply +15v
7 - Lamp supply -15v
8 - connected internally to pin 6

If you connect the end terminals of the 10k or so potentiometer in a
volume/expression pedal between pins 2 and 6, and connect the wiper
to pin 1, you will send a variable voltage (0-15v) to pin 1 as you
move the pedal giving the desired effect.

You might need to swap the wires over so that the pedal works the
right way round.
