Subject:Re: OT: Yamaha P200 piano - module version?

The main difference between yamaha's piano options are the number of
PCM waves the use to build the layered/multisampled pianos.

You need to go to yamaha's site and find the data reference for each
module you are considering and then look at which waveforms are
present.

I have an S80-- I tried out a Cs6 for a while but it was missing 1/2
of the piano samples and didn't cut it. The P200 has even more
samples but I think the Piano plug card has them all plus better
epianos. So an S80 + Piano card = P200 minus some wieght. For a
module version you probably want to get a Cs6r and then add the
plugin card...

At the momment I'm considering dumping those yamaha samples into a
software sampler to use on my laptop rig (using SampleChan a great
lowcost VSTi sampler)-- I'm not sure how legal that is, but since I
own the S80 I figure I'm in the clear. I will be pretty time
consuming though...
