I know this thread is being put to sleep, but there is another point which
links this stuff to an earlier thread.

For at least fifteen years some drummers have used tiny mikes on the drums
to trigger a MIDI sound module. In other words, exactly like Billy Joel's
Kurzweil-in-a-shell, or a Hammond clone in a B-style cabinet, there is no
guarantee that the "real" drums you see at an arena show are in fact what
you are hearing out in the audience. As long as the sound is close enough to
the "real thing," few if any people will be able to tell, and just seeing
real drums will satisfy them. Or, as Socrates once said, what is reality?
