Subject:Re: Weight and look - do I ever agree

To All,
I was watching a Jethro Tull thing awhile back (BBC?) that I think was
fairly recent, (last couple of years.) The keyboard player had at least two,
possibly three clone size keyboards. He had them in this great three-sided,
what looked to be wood that was simply but artfully shaped. Looked somewhat
like a C3 case or roll topped desk, but a bit taller and my guess is it could
be broken down into three pieces, or even hinged on the inside to fold up
into itself flat. Got a quick glimpse where the keyboards sat on three simple
shelves. Anybody else see this? It could not have been a more perfect set up.
On another note: It almost sounded like in one thread that folks were bashing
how some of us want to be perceived (Appearence-wise) on stage. Kinda
minimized some of our feelings about it. I personally like going on stage
with equipment that looks like it's gonna kick ass! It makes me feel good and
gave me that little extra boost to show it would. I still miss the old days,
(but not the herniated discs) when we were moving my C3/31H onto the stage.
People knew we were going to be special before we even hit the first chord.
What I'm saying is that everybody was pumped and the good vibes just got the
whole show off to a good start. Vain? Hell yeah, it's Rock and Roll. Stuck
up? No way. I had so many people approaching me with questions about My Beast
and especially, "That spinning thingy" that they had an opening line to start
the conversation whereas they might not have even came near. Still not
convinced? How about paying your bucks to see John Lord and he tiptoes out on
stage to sit behind his clone on a little metal stand. Hey! It would still be
Lord! Bullsh*t! As some have you have implied, purist' and idiots wouldn't be
able to tell the difference between the clone or the real thing so what's the
big deal? I would be the first in line to get my money back. Bring it on!
