There's really no reason, not to do so, I think it would be neat on
stage, especially if illuminated.
Liberace used a see-through piano with no detriment to the tone. And
see-through pianos have in fact been produced commercially. In the
relatively small rotary speaker market though, it would probably not
make commercial sense. Dyed-in-the-wool 'Leslie' lovers would take
too much convincing, so it wouldn't be worth tooling up.
