Subject:Re: Leslie Vs Motion Sound
You all have contributed interesting thoughts on both classic and modified
internal Leslie components and at other times discussed the complexities of
the sound wave behaviors in a "real Leslie", that also contribute to "The
Sound".
This leads me to a question that touches on both a weight reduction
issue/idea as well an acoustics issue(s).
Is the weight of a Leslie's wooden shell high enough of a percentage of the
total weight to entice engineers to consider leaving the Leslie's
traditional size and shape as-is and concentrate instead on a lightweight
shell material? ...Or, is the wood material itself as essential to "the
sound" as the other, previously discussed factors?
