Subject:RE: Mackie vs. Barbetta???

Have any of you guys endorsing the Mackie owned and/or played through a
Barbetta? I own a Mackie 450, a Barbetta Sona 41 and a JBL EON 15" G2, and
of the three the Barbetta is (IMHO) the best of the lot. The Mackie is
fairly accurate but seems to lack a little bottom end, the JBL is a little
less accurate but has plenty of bottom end, but to me the Barbetta has both
of these areas covered very well. Barbetta was suffering for a while with
some dependability issues, but they seemed to have addressed those and are
now putting out a sturdy, road-worthy product (though mine still travels in
an Anvil case). A major problem though is finding a Barbetta to test drive,
but if you've never played through one it's worth the effort to check one
out if you can find one.
Concerning mixers, I use an Alesis Studio 12R, which I like a lot. A little
pricey, but very clean and works great for keys.

My 2%
