If you only have one MIDI In, you need an external MIDI merger (or merge function) to connect two keyboards. Just connecting one keyboards' MIDI In or Thru to another keyboard won't do what you want to do. In the original intent of MIDI:

MIDI Out = data from keyboard
MIDI In = data from another source
MIDI Thru = exact copy of MIDI In data

While some master keyboards have expanded on the specification by allowing the MIDI In data to be merged with the key data and sent to the MIDI Out, most of them do not. What you most likely need is a MIDI merger box.
