Jerry Kovarsky of Korg already announced (here) that there will be a software update for the CX-3 sometime in May/June which will add most of the BX-3 features. The exact list of features has not been published -- at least, not by Korg. This update is planned to be a software-only upgrade, although the exact details aren't yet known. All previous updates to the CX-3, except for the keybed replacement on very early units, have been available as a (very long) SysEx file update, so I am anticipating the same. In the past, however, the update was not especially user-friendly; I'm expecting that this situation will improve somewhat on the new release.

Jerry has promised that this information will be made available to the CWSG as soon as it's released.

Whether there will be a physical "CX-3 v2," or just new firmware added to the current product, is unknown at this time.

Regards,

-BW
