Subject:CX3/BX3/CX3v2 MIDI

I am working on a Windows MIDI controller specifically for Korg CX3. In my
research, I came across the full technical spec for MIDI on the CX-3. But,
the document (March 13, 2002) also had full specifications for additions for
BX-3 and CX-3 v2. So I thought I would share a few of the highlights of the
(apparently) new MIDI features in the next release.

PROGRAM FEATURES
- Reverb type has a 4th mode called "Dark"
- All keyboard "split" options are disabled in BX-3 (obviously)
- BX-3 MODWHEEL assignment = none, click level, perc level, perc decay,
rotary fast, lower manual level, rotary speed, wheel brake
- BX-3 MODWHEEL range -99 to +99
- "EX LOWER DRAWBARS 1,2,3" setting 0-8 each
- Noise level 0-99
- Drawbar level curve - Bright or Mellow
- Rotary fast pedal - Alter or Moment
- Rotary stop pedal - Alter or Moment
- Wheel Brake pedal - Alter or Moment
- Speaker Simulator - On or Off

GLOBAL FEATURES
- Merge Lower MIDI msg disabled in BX-3
- Keyboard Trigger Mode - Shallow or Deep
- Expression Pedal MIN,MAX,WIDTH changed from 7 bit to 16 bit resolution
- Wheel Brake Speed - Fast or Slow
- Program Mapper - Enable or Disable
- Additional Expresion Control = Both/Knob Only/Pedal Only/Both Multiply
- EX-MODE drawbar type was G4-C7. Now it selects -5 to +24 (?)

OTHER MIDI
- CC#122 for LOCAL Control - ON / OFF
- QUERY response sub-type is 0=CX3, 1=BX3
- QUERY response (should) show Major/Minor version numbers
- BX-3 supports CC#1 MODWHEEL control

Anyway, my application only requires Windows 98 or better, EXCEL 97 or
better, a midi interface, and a KORG CX3/BX3 keyboard. No install, since it
is written in EXCEL VBA. It does real-time controls IN/OUT and Sysex Query,
Global and Local parameters import and display. No NOTES, No MIDI files, No
songs. Being an old fart, I am classifying it as Freeware. (I have been a
Network/Realtime/Driver developer for 30 years). Let me know if you want a
